Larry L. Capps is a native of Gastonia, North Carolina. Before retiring Larry was employed with PSNC Energy/SCANA Energy for 53 years. During his longer career Larry held numerous job titles, traveling throughout the United States while representing the gas industry. Larry specialized in nee codes and standards which affected how natural gas was delivered and used within the homes and businesses of America. Larry was a member of the Gaston Business Association and the Montrose Chamber of Commerce. For his work with the Montrose chamber Larry received the Harley B. Gaston Memorial award. Larry is also the CEO of Gaston County Piedmont Area Wildlife Stewards (PAWS), a Chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation (NCWF), from which he was awarded the NCWF Conservation Volunteer of the Year award. His work with the NCWF and PAWS includes working with and mentoring young Boy Scouts who are working on their Eagle Scout award. Larry and his wife Judy reside in Gastonia and have four daughters. The attend the Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Belmont, NC.
